A Four-Week Induction Training Programme 02- concluded at the GNDU

A Four-Week Induction Training Programme-02 organized under the aegis of the Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT) concluded at the UGC-Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) of the University. Forty Four university and college teachers pertaining to a vide spectrum of academic disciplines and from various parts of the country participated in it. Sh. Rajive Bhalla Honorable Justice Retired, Punjab and Haryana High court, Chandigarh and currently Dean, Faculty of Law, GNDU presided over the valedictory session. Emphasizing the continuous upgradation of knowledge for the teaching community, he said that such courses go a long way in widening the horizons. The continuous enhancement of one’s expertise is an indispensible part of few professions like, teachers, lawyers, judges etc, he stressed.

The teaching fraternity of today needs to do introspection in order to discharge its duty towards the society at large, he exhorted. Talking about the criticism of the teaching profession by the society in general, he urged them to take the criticism in their stride and counselled them to put their best foot forward to meet the growing aspirations of the society.

The declining habit of reading amongst the teaching community in the today’s world of information technology is a major cause of concern for one and all and he strongly recommended to inculcate the habit of reading. Prof. (Dr) Adarsh Pal Vig, Director of the Centre advised the participants to make a virtue out of necessity and to disseminate the competence acquired during the course to their institutions and students. Describing the participant as ambassadors of our centre, he hoped that they must have definitely augmented their expertise. Prof. Sukhprit Singh Coordinator summarized the overall contents and gains of the course. The participants of the course made a fruitful suggestions. Earlier the Chief Guest was accorded a warm welcome by Prof. Adarsh Pal Vig, Prof. Sukhprit Singh and Dr. Mohan Kumar by presenting him a sapling.
