Connecticut based Sikh Graduated from FBI Citizens Academy

FBI Director Sent Letter to Congratulate

 Hartford, Connecticut ( USA )April 28 (R. Gogna)— yesterdaySwaranjit Singh Khalsa Norwich Community Leader,Sikh Community Representative and serving Member of Commission of City of Norwich was Nominated by FBI New Haven office for training in FBI Citizen Academy.
Swaranjit Singh Khalsa was also given Director of Community Leadership Award in 2017 by FBI Director James Comey in Washington DC for embracing diversity and spreading education about religious tolerance.
FBI Citizens Academy programs are usually six-to-eight-week programs that give business, religious, civic, and community leaders an inside look at the FBI. 
The mission of the FBI Citizens Academies is to foster a greater understanding of the role of federal law enforcement in the community through frank discussion and education.
Swaranjit Singh Khalsa said “It was a good opportunity and now I am really empowered to help my City and my community with education I have now”.
23 Participants were selected all around Connecticut by the special agent in charge of the local FBI field office.
Graduation was held in “Henry Lee College of Criminal Justice & Forensic Science” building where Dr.Lee addresses the class and also provided tour of the building.
FBI Special Agent in-charge Brain Turner was keynote speaker who presented graduation certificate to the class along with FBI agent Charles Grady and Joanne Benson.FBI Citizen academy President Bill wade also motivated class to join Alumni Association and gave insight of great community work that is being going onThe FBI National Citizens Academy Alumni Association (FBINCAAA) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that supports local, state and federal law enforcement through community engagement, education and outreach.It consist of More than 42,000 community and business leaders who are dedicated to making our neighborhoods safer and serving as volunteers in 60 chapters around the nation who graduated from the FBI’s Citizens Academy program.
Swaranjit Singh Khalsa was joined by Manmohan Singh Bharara President of Hamden Gurudwara and Jaspal Singh Paul Norwich Businessman on his graduation and other community leaders from Connecticut.
