NEET 2019: Application Correction Over; Know the Recent Updates
NEET is the most sought after entrance test for the candidates seeking admission in the medical and dental colleges of the country for the UG degrees such as MBBS and BDS. The exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in a single window across the nation. The NEET 2019 exam is scheduled to be conducted in the month of May. The registration process for NEET 2019 has been concluded already.
NTA had given the option of editing the NEET 2019 application form to candidates who had made some errors while filling the form previously. The correction window for NEET 2019 was open from 14 January to 31 January, 2019. Only those candidates were allowed to make changes who had successfully completed the registration form earlier and paid the exam fee duly.
Candidates were allowed to make changes such as name, date of birth, correspondence address etc. For making changes in areas like gender and category, a candidate was supposed to pay a fee decided by the exam conducting body. However details such as email, mobile number, the medium of question paper, the location of the exam center etc. could not be changed.
NTA also allowed the candidates to make changes in their photograph or signature if they were blurred. This provision was introduced on January 23, 2019. The authorities sent a message to the candidates whose photograph was erroneous. Candidates had to adhere to the photo specifications laid down by the authorities in order to properly upload the scanned copies of their pictures and signatures.
To make changes, candidates were required to log in with their registration number and password and make the requisite changes thereafter. If there was an issue with the photograph, candidates needed to rectify that as well. After finally submitting the edited form, the candidate would not be specifically informed if his/her application form is accepted or rejected. The candidate is solely responsible to check the approval of edited application form.
The application editing window closed at 23:59 hrs on January 31, 2019. No more changes in the application form will be entertained by the exam conducting bodies now.
The NEET 2019 is going to be conducted in a single window on May 5, 2019. The exam will be conducted in an offline mode only from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. All the candidates who have applied for the exam will be able to download their NEET 2019 Admit cards from April 15, 2019. The admit card will be available on the official website. The exam will comprise of three sections- physics, chemistry and biology and will be of 720 marks.
