The conference was co-organized by the Stellar Universe, a student club of Delhi University. This conference provided an opportunity to students and young physicists to understanding challenging problems of the contemporary times in the areas of Astrophysics and Cosmology.
Renowned Physicists working in the area of Astrophysics, Prof. (Dr.) Avinash Deshpande (IUCAA & IIT Kanpur) and Prof. Dr. Jasjeet Bagla (IISER Mohali) presented their lectures on the theme. A total of 13 oral audio-visual presentations and 26 posters presentation from the students at undergraduate and PhD level were presented during the conference. Senior faculty members from Department of Physics, Prof. R C. Singh and Prof. N. P. S. Saini were also part of the event.
Dr. Hardeep Singh said that AstroRetreat focused on the scientific topics such as Relativity and Gravitation, Cosmology, High Energy Physics, Quantum Mechanics and Applications, Instrumentations and Methods in Astronomy and Astrophysics, Stellar and Planetary Astrophysics, Astrobiology and Astrochemistry, Fundamental Astronomy and Space Physics.
The event was organized by students Saurabh, Ishita, Rishab, Simranpreet, Shankar, Priyamvada, Abhijeet, Preeti, and Yatin under the supervision of Dr. Bindiya Arora, Dept. of Physics with support of Dr. Venus Singh Mithu, Dept. of Chemistry. “We received a total of 365 national as well as international registrations. The event wasconducted successfully with the efforts of my team and we wish to organize more such events under the Science Club in future. We are thankful to our Vice Chancellor Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu for his continuous support to such student activities.” said Dr. Bindiya Arora, Convener & Mentor, SciRox.
