Three-day exhibition from October 22 at GNDU
Amritsar, 21 October 2019: The Department of Lifelong Learning is organizing a three days exhibition from
October 22-24, 2019. The objective of the exhibition is to preserve and promote traditional handicrafts for sustainable livelihoods of the poor and marginalised people. The budding artists will exhibit for display as well as sale their hand made products including embroidery, phulkari, chunri, tie & die pottery, block printing etc.
Al least 300 students have been trained to decorate fabric or other material using needle to apply thread or yarn. Some of the basic techniques or stiches of the earliest embroidery are chain stitch, button hole or running stitch, satin, coin stitch etc. Throughout the year, the students are groomed to express their creativity and art.The exhibition will start from October 22, 2019 and will remain open until Thursday during 10.30 AM to 5.00 PM all the three days in the Department of Lifelong Learning.
