Guru Nanak Dev University signed an agreement with EdCIL (India)
Amritsar April 4 : The Education Consultants of India Ltd. (EdCIL) and Guru Nanak Dev University has entered into an MOU for the admission and placement of foreign students to Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. The MoU was inked by GNDU Registrar in presence of GNDU Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Jaspal Singh Sandhu, other senior officials of both the organizations were present said a statement from University.
EdCIL (India) Ltd., a company registered under the companies’ act 1956 and a public Sector Undertaking affiliated to the Ministry of Human Resources Development Government of India. Sh. Manoj Kumar, Executive Director, EdCIL in his message said EdCIL will offer the foreign student’s admission to Guru Nanak Dev University. More students are willing to take the admission in Guru Nanak Dev University through EdCIL as we have received a formal request from them for the admission.
Prof. (Dr.) Jaspal Singh Sandhu said that India’s higher education system is the third largest in the world after China and the United States. Education in India is provided by the public sector as well as the private sector, with control and funding coming from three levels: central, state and local. The main governing body at the tertiary level is the University Grants Commission (India) which enforces its standards, advises the government and helps coordinate between the centre and the state. After passing grade 12, students may enrol in general degree programmes such as a bachelor’s degree in arts, commerce, science or professional programmes such as engineering, Pharmacy or medicines etc. The MOU between EdCIL and Guru Nanak Dev University is a leap forward for the academic opportunities to the foreign students. Guru Nanak Dev University has proved its support, wellbeing and grooming of students for the future leaders of the society in the subsequent years of its inception. This MOU is another leap towards that objective.
Dr. Preet Mohinder Singh Bedi, Coordinator University-Industry linkage Programme said Guru Nanak Dev University has been granted “Category One” status by MHRD, New Delhi. Ours is the only University to get this elite status in Punjab region. GNDU is the winner of Youth Festivals during this year both at Zonal as well as National levels. With the highest score in sports performance of more than one lac points, University has been awarded the prestigious ‘Maulana Abul Kalam Azad” Trophy for overall excellence in sports this year. Moreover, University had been a rich tradition of imparting education to international students that from this academic Session University would admit more international students in its campuses and these students would be the brand ambassadors of the university.
